I was about to purchase a 1999 F250 5.4 triton. I went to research them on the internet and found that there are hundreds of hundreds of people who have had sparkplugs blow out of the head stripping all the threads and breaking the coil. Costing 3500 to 5000 dollars to repair with the same faulty head so to anybody out there looking to get one of these I suggest not.

Fords use aluminum heads. And there is like 4 threads for the spark plug to grab onto. Not just that but alot of people say it takes a good day just to change the plugs. You need to be really careful to not over tighten the spark plugs or they will strip out or blow out.

it comes down to knowledge and technique, i think the tune ups for these engines were intentionally made difficult so the techs would have job security.
